Headquartered in Paris, with offices in Geneva and London, Cofarco is an entrepreneurial financial intermediation firm that provides credit insurance brokerage and financial arrangement services.

Our DNA is based on this dual capacity to cover risk and raise finance which sets us apart from our market peers.

With a well-established reputation as a lead expert in the commodities sector and a growing practice in long-term structured projects and asset backed finance, we specialise in sectors where our technical expertise enables us to make a difference. Since the outset, we have worked with more than 150 clients in 32 countries among which global merchants, large industrial groups and leading investment banks intermediating with 80 insurers and lenders.

Our admission as a registered broker on the Lloyd's market in 2019 has changed our business profile, making us a credible option for a wide range of institutional clients. With this newly acquired status, we are now opening a new chapter in the company’s history thriving on our technical expertise and global reach to compete within the top league.

At this exciting time for the firm, we are looking for an intern (minimum 6 months) to assist the team in the placement and management of a large spectrum of credit protection and finance deals with a wide range of international insurers and banks.

About the role

  • You will be assisting account executives of the firm in handling a variety of international accounts ranging from large corporations and banks, to commodity traders;
  • You will contribute to provide expertise in advising clients on financing and risk mitigation strategies globally and/or on specific transactions, and in helping them determine 'bankable' facility and/or insurance policy structures;
  • You will prepare robust market documentation including transaction teasers and requests for terms;
  • You will be involved in the placement of transactions with insurance underwriters, banks and funds globally and monitor existing transactions, helping clients to comply with documentation requirements and terms and, as the case may be, supporting them in claim procedures ;
  • The internship will involve frequent interactions and visits to our offices in Geneva and in London including attending placements in the Lloyd’s markets.

About You

Academic background in Finance: ideally final year or gap year (“césure”) at business school, Master Finance or equivalent;

  • Good general understanding of corporate finance and capital markets;
  • Sound financial analysis and structuring skills with the ability to build clear demonstrations and business cases;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication in English which is the firm’s working language;
  • Self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit, able to take initiative and to manage transactions and projects from start to finish;
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships both externally and internally
